New Year Newsletter
Hello and Happy New Year FVM family!
Why do we bother to look back? Our goal in reflecting on what has transpired over the last year is to thank God for his faithfulness, presence and provision and to make wise decisions as we approach this new year, 2022.
FVM 2021 in Review
As we started out 2021 in the state of Oklahoma, we were fully relying on God to lead and guide us in this new place and space. Here is a snapshot of what happened:
Our Freedom in Forgiveness course was developed and rolled out in February
“The Word of the Day” devotional was published - over 200 copies were sold and/ or given away
Website launched (www.focusandvisionministries.com)
“Free to Be” Life Coaching developed/ launched
Counseled 5 Premarital/ marriage couples/ families
Expansion of advising relationships
We said hello and goodbye to our amazing admin intern Courtney 💛
We received close to $14,o00 in support that went toward administrative, overhead, travel and web-based expenses as well as reaching people through social media
Began receiving income for coaching, counseling and training
Looking Forward to 2022
Having followed God’s guidance, we have moved to Minnesota over the holidays and already have praise reports to share! Michael has accepted a part-time position as the Family Life Pastor at Crossroads Church, our last home church before we left Minnesota 7 years ago. Additionally the process of transitioning the children to their new school has gone well and we are continuously in awe of their flexibility and grace entering new spaces and places. We are overwhelmed at the generosity of Pastors Paul and Deb Marzahn who have given us housing temporarily to allow us to gain stability in this move.
We have determined goals for 2022 and would greatly appreciate your prayers and support in the following areas:
Michael finding a clinical chaplain opportunity to coincide with his continued professional education
Having multiple Freedom in Forgiveness groups
Increasing client base to generate income
Strategic ministry partnerships
Admin/ social media intern
Publishing volumes Bravo and Charlie of “The Word of the Day”
Increasing visibility to reach more people
Finding family service opportunities
One of our reasons for moving to Minnesota at this time is the large base of support we have here, realizing that we cannot do the ministry we were called to on our own. We are so grateful for the variety of ways you all have come alongside us as we continue to discern God’s guidance.
“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” - Is. 58:11
Blessings,
The Riveras
